MISCELLANEOUS LINKS
This page is for links to sites unrelated to the rave scene, that I think
might be of interest to people.
- Rage Against The Machine Best known for their music, but even more significant, to me at least, is their political activism, especially with respect to political prisoners such as Mumia Abu-Jamal and Leonard Peltier.
- Billy Bragg Another politically active performer. He has little directly to do with rave (apart from being British), as his music is more on the folk side of things. But he is a strong voice for the left, for all youth, and anyone concerned with oppression and top-heavy distribution of wealth in the global economy. And his music is good too. I saw him play (twice) this weekend at Rootsfest in Victoria (July 2001), but the most memorable appearance, for me, was an impromptu concert he played at Queens Park during the Days of Action some years ago. There had been rumours that he might be there, that he might even speak, because he was playing in Toronto that night. But no one expected that he would come out and play (for free) for a crowd of protestors.
